Regarding Transliteration of this Surah
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
86:1 (Y. Ali) By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);-
86:1 (Picktall) By the heaven and the Morning Star
86:2 (Y. Ali) And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?-
86:2 (Picktall) Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is!
86:3 (Y. Ali) (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;-
86:3 (Picktall) The piercing Star!
86:4 (Y. Ali) There is no soul but has a protector over it.
86:4 (Picktall) No human soul but hath a guardian over it.
86:5 (Y. Ali) Now let man but think from what he is created!
86:5 (Picktall) So let man consider from what he is created.
86:6 (Y. Ali) He is created from a drop emitted-
86:6 (Picktall) He is created from a gushing fluid
86:7 (Y. Ali) Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs:
86:7 (Picktall) That issued from between the loins and ribs.
86:8 (Y. Ali) Surely ((Allah)) is able to bring him back (to life)!
86:8 (Picktall) Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life)
86:9 (Y. Ali) The Day that (all) things secret will be tested,
86:9 (Picktall) On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out.
86:10 (Y. Ali) (Man) will have no power, and no helper.
86:10 (Picktall) Then will he have no might nor any helper.
86:11 (Y. Ali) By the Firmament which returns (in its round),
86:11 (Picktall) By the heaven which giveth the returning rain,
86:12 (Y. Ali) And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),-
86:12 (Picktall) And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants)
86:13 (Y. Ali) Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil):
86:13 (Picktall) Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word,
86:14 (Y. Ali) It is not a thing for amusement.
86:14 (Picktall) It is no pleasantry.
86:15 (Y. Ali) As for them, they are but plotting a scheme,
86:15 (Picktall) Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad)
86:16 (Y. Ali) And I am planning a scheme.
86:16 (Picktall) And I plot a plot (against them).
86:17 (Y. Ali) Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile).
86:17 (Picktall) So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while.
